Hollywood star and Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence spoke out strongly against Israel’s war in Gaza during the San Sebastián International Film Festival in Spain on Friday.
In response to a question at a press conference, Lawrence said the destruction and suffering in Gaza amount to “nothing less than genocide” and called the situation “unacceptable.”
She also warned about the growing acceptance of misinformation in U.S. politics, stressing that lies should not be normalized.
The war in Gaza has continued for nearly two years, leaving widespread devastation and loss of life across the Palestinian territory.
